Federal government, National Park Service, and the Blue Ridge Parkway as a whole has neglected the largest campground on the Blue Ridge for years. Write your Congressmen, Senators, Head of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Secretary of the Interior, the Vice President, and the President. Include pictures of what you see, and don't see.

The road is falling apart and potholes abound. From the reviews I can only assume the park has gone down in quality recently. I would not recommend this campground to anyone in it's current state.

Spent 2 nights there this weekend and it was worse than I expected. I've been to 20 state parks this year already and camped around 15 nights so I know park amenities vary. I knew the were no showers but the condition of the restrooms was horrid. No lights, toilets out of order, room filthy, toilet overflowing with feces, sinks loose. I walked across the campground to another restroom and aside from feces, the rest was the same.

Had a great time camping here. Camped in loop B. Great location off the Parkway. Awesome lake for fishing and paddlesports. Will be back!

Best place to camp.... there is so much to do. If you like hiking, we loved the price lake loop it was easy... we loved Boone Fork trail it was strenuous, we loved going to the rough or ruff ridge rock climb about 3 miles away. Incredible views. Only 1/3 of a mile hike. If you want a shower, you can go to the blowing rock swimming pool bath house up to 10pm for 2 dollars. Its only 8 minutes or so away!!!... if you don't go, then good, we may have a space the next time we go!!!!

Second time I tent camped here, first time was last year in fall on weekday and it was great. This last time, not so much. Here is the deal, this campground is really 2 separate entities. "A" loop is great, close to lake and trail and sites are nice and well planned out. The other sites are across the parkway up in the cut and roads are horrible pot holes and ruts and sites are terrible. We only had one choice for first come first service tent and it was a site that was stuck in between two others. Too far to walk to lake so you had to drive a big loop to get out. Reminded me of Grapes Of Wrath each time we drove out to go hike, etc. Only way I would stay here again is during week offseason.

Don't forget to make a donation to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. They are at least willing to listen and get it on the list to fix.
